I am a proud graduate of the Surgical Technology Program at Nassau Community College and obtained my CST after graduation. I continued my education in Nursing at Adelphi University and obtained my RN License plus CNOR after graduation.
Upon graduation I began working at Winthrop University Hospital in the Operating Room and in Ambulatory Surgery. I have been teaching in the Surgical Technology Program at Nassau Community College since 1999. All faculty in the Surgical Technology Program are also active members in the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST).
My past employment experiences include an extensive background in Level I Trauma, General Surgery, ENT Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, OB-GYN Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, GU Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, TCV Surgery, and Neuro Surgery both as a CST and RN.
I have received the Nurse of Excellence Award 2007 and I am presently a nurse manager of ASU at Winthrop Hospital. I will also receive my master's degree from Adelphi University in Nursing Education, May 2010.
